Deposit Operations Specialist

Summary
Computes, records, and organizes bank deposit operations data by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Locates and resolves errors in daily transactions; makes adjustments and corrections as needed.
  • Records and inputs data by computer for reporting.
  • Prepares, maintains and updates any necessary reports for the department.
  • Prepares, verifies and processes incoming and outgoing wires including input into tracking program, confirms balances available, notifies customers of funds transferred to their accounts. 
  • Prepares and processes charge back entries and mail notices to customers.
  • Prepares and processes analysis charges for RDC and wire transfer customers.
  • Reviews checks clearing over $10,000 for proper signature and endorsements.
  • Reconciles transactions routinely against fed and tracking totals.
  • Verifies and processes card orders, pin changes, card stock and hot cards for Instant Issue Program.
  • Verifies new account paperwork and new account uploads to Navigator system; makes corrections as needed.
  • Prepares, maintains and processes return deposit items.
  • Processes lockbox mail, lockbox deposits and updates the lockbox daily log.
  • Processes Safe Cash daily deposits (Loomis), Safe Cash Vault Reconcilement, Safe Cash Order from Fed and Safe Cash Vault Shipment to Fed.
  • Reviews all Exception Items for proper signature, endorsements, etc.
  • Exports/Reconciles transactions against fed and tracking totals.
  • Verifies Remote Deposit Capture/Mobile deposit items.
  • Prepares Weiland report for RDC and wire transfer customers.
  • Orders/sells foreign cash/checks.
  • Record keeping management to include maintaining logs, etc.
  • Performs wide range of duties related to maintaining bank’s deposit, savings, and loan portfolios to include necessary maintenance and check back.
  • Performs other clerical tasks such as filing, typing, scanning, indexing and operating other office machines.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to include great attention to detail along with the ability to prioritize and multi-task; customer service oriented with strong organizational and communication skills – written and oral; ability to work in a team environment, cross-train and perform extensive research. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent and six months+ experience as a bank teller.  Prefer One+ years’ experience as bank teller with account opening and prior experience in bank operations.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job to include near and far vision, use of arms, hands and fingers, sitting for long periods of time, some standing, bending, stretching and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
