Legends Bank SVP/ Commercial Lender Mike Rainey Named to Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees
APSU alumnus brings decades of banking and community leadership experience to the role
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Legends Bank is proud to recognize Mike Rainey, SVP/ Commercial Lender, on his 2025 appointment to the Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees, where he began serving alongside fellow trustees to help guide the university’s strategic direction and stewardship.
“As a graduate of Austin Peay, I am truly honored and deeply appreciative for the opportunity to serve in this capacity,” said Rainey. “I look forward to working alongside a tremendous group of Austin Peay Trustees and committed to using this opportunity to help make a meaningful impact during my tenure.”
A Clarksville High School graduate, Rainey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Austin Peay State University in 1983 and has built 35 years of banking experience. His connection to APSU runs deep. As a student, he served as President of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, was a member of the Interfraternity Council, and acted as Senator at Large in the Student Government Association. He later graduated from the Barret School of Banking and Leadership Clarksville and remains a strong supporter of Austin Peay Athletics.
A longtime Clarksville–Montgomery County resident, Rainey has also dedicated significant time to community leadership, including roles with the United Way of Clarksville-Montgomery County, the Clarksville Rotary Club, FCA Northwest Middle Tennessee, and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as a director for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and as a board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
