Where It Started
In 2024, Legends Bank launched Legends Lift, a volunteer service program designed to respond quickly in times of crisis while also supporting everyday needs across Middle Tennessee.
What began as a way to unify outreach efforts has grown into something much bigger, now an ongoing commitment to serve neighbors, support local organizations, and make a lasting impact.
“Legends Lift was created to bring our various community outreach and volunteer initiatives under a single umbrella,” said Tommy Bates, President & CEO of Legends Bank. “Once you get into it and start seeing the benefit, the momentum just builds upon itself.”
That momentum continues to grow as more team members, partners, and community organizations come together under the Legends Lift mission.
National Recognition for Local Impact
That commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed. Legends Bank was named the Emerging Winner in the 2025 National Community Bank Service Awards by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for community banks.
ICBA represents thousands of community banks across the country and works to promote relationship-based banking, local decision-making, and community-focused financial services. Its annual National Community Bank Service Awards recognize institutions that go above and beyond in strengthening the communities they serve through volunteerism, innovation, and outreach.
Being recognized at the national level by ICBA highlights the real impact of Legends Lift, not just as a program, but as a reflection of Legends Bank’s culture of service. The award specifically honors banks that are making a measurable difference, whether through disaster response, nonprofit partnerships, or ongoing community support.

Through partnerships such as YAIPAK and initiatives like Operation Hauling Hope, Legends Lift supports recovery efforts for military veterans and families during and after tornadoes, floods, and other catastrophic events, while also strengthening everyday community support through local relationships and collaboration.

- Volunteering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity
