This spotlight features Jason Hass, Mortgage Loan Originator at our Downtown Clarksville branch. With more than two decades of experience in mortgage lending and banking, Jason works closely with individuals and families to navigate the home financing process with confidence. A Relationship-First Approach

In his role, Jason originates mortgage loans while establishing and fostering relationships that extend far beyond the closing table. His goal is to create the best experience possible for every customer; one that naturally leads to lasting connections and referrals for years to come.

With 26 years in banking, including 22 years in mortgage lending, Jason brings both experience and a personal approach that helps make what can feel like a complex process more approachable and manageable.

It’s All About the People

For Jason, the most rewarding part of the job is simple: the people.

He values the opportunity to truly get to know his customers and watch their lives evolve over time. Whether it’s helping a first-time homebuyer or reconnecting with a client years later, those relationships are what stand out most.

“What I enjoy the most about my job is the ability to get to know so many different people, learn about them and watch families grow in real time,” says Jason. “When a customer reaches back out after 5, 10, even 15 years, and we’re talking about kids who were once in diapers, playing sports, now heading to college or getting married, that’s an absolute joy.”

He also appreciates the balance his role brings, combining strong interpersonal connections with the analytical side of helping customers make informed financial decisions.

Helping Customers See the Bigger Picture

Jason helps customers succeed by focusing on the bigger picture of what is often the largest financial decision of their lives.

He takes pride in being a trusted resource from start to finish and beyond, helping customers think through not just where they are today, but where they want to be in the future.

Advice Backed by Experience

Jason’s advice is rooted in real-life experience.

From purchasing his first home at 24, to upgrading during the peak of the 2005–2006 housing market, to navigating the challenges of selling during the 2008 financial crisis, he’s experienced both the highs and the hardships firsthand. Those experiences shape how he guides his clients today.

His focus is on helping customers understand personal affordability based on their current situation while keeping future goals in mind, so that when the process is complete, there are no regrets.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Jason’s focus is his family.

A husband of 26 years and proud father of three, he values being present and involved in his kids’ lives, especially through their athletic activities over the years.

“Being involved in my kids’ athletic ventures over the years has been so much fun and created bonds and lifelong memories that I cherish deeply,” says Jason. “Keeping up with these kiddos and being present in their lives is my main focal point in this point of my life.”

Looking ahead, Jason hopes to spend more time traveling with his wife and finding opportunities to volunteer within the community.

He’s also a lifelong fan of University of Michigan athletics (“Go Blue!”), a reflection of his roots growing up in the Mitten State.

Jason lives by a simple but powerful mantra:
