At Legends Bank, building strong relationships is at the heart of everything we do. This month, we’re highlighting Bob Belvin, Business Development Officer, whose passion for connecting with local businesses and serving the community helps strengthen the relationships that make Legends Bank unique.
Building Relationships That Matter
Bob has been with Legends Bank for four and a half years, bringing more than three decades of experience in business development and sales. As Business Development Officer, he works across all Legends Bank markets, connecting with local businesses, community leaders, and professionals to identify opportunities where Legends Bank can help customers grow and succeed.
On any given day, you’ll find Bob meeting with branch managers and lenders, attending networking events, presenting at seminars, or sharing the Legends Bank story throughout the community.
What does he enjoy most about his role?
“Being out and visible is priority one for me. It makes all the difference,” says Bob. “Coming from a 32-year career in telecom sales, my role at Legends Bank is the complete opposite of the grind of corporate America. I actually feel like I’m helping people instead of just chasing numbers and sales.”
A Consultative Approach
Bob believes every business is different, and finding the right banking partner starts with listening.
One of the ways he helps customers succeed is by taking a consultative approach and connecting them with the Legends Bank team member best suited to help them achieve their goals.
When speaking with business owners, Bob often shares this advice:
“Always be looking ahead and trying to identify trends in your business and be as prepared as possible for quick shifts.”
He also believes every business owner should surround themselves with trusted advisors, including an attorney, CPA, financial advisor, insurance agent, and banker, to help navigate challenges and plan for the future.
A Familiar Face in Clarksville
A Clarksville native, Bob has deep roots in the community and enjoys staying involved both professionally and personally.
Outside of Legends Bank, sports fans may recognize him from ESPN+, where he covers college football and basketball throughout the region. He also writes weekly sports columns during football and basketball seasons, serves as the public address announcer for Kirkwood High School, and regularly contributes to local and regional sports broadcasts. This fall, he’ll even be launching his own podcast.
Bob also serves on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee & Southern Kentucky and volunteers on advisory committees for several local nonprofit organizations. During the summer, he enjoys spending time on the water with his wife and family.
A Few Fun Facts
Bob and his wife have a special story: they first met as teenagers at church and, nine years later, were married in that very same church, just 75 feet from where they first met.
